Four great firms today are TD Ameritrade, E trade, Carl Suave, and Sky trade, they’re inexpensive, they’re SIPC ensured, and they carry a wide range of securities, and they’re very simple they have fast websites that can make it very easy for you to purchase and sell securities.

Three is deciding how much money that you want to put inside of your new account, again that all depends on your needs and how much money you have, so that’s an individualized question. Four, complete an account application at that brokerage firm, most of this can be done online, but again, most of the firms require that you fill out an application and at least mail it in, so they have a hard copy with your original signature on it.
