Troubleshoot a Computer Hard Drive

I will show you how to troubleshoot a computer hard drive. Lets go to our computer, now were going to run a checking program that will check a computer hard drive for problems, just click on your start button and on XP you go to run. I’m just going to type in CMD here, which you would type in the XP run prompt. Now on this tip let’s right click on command and say run as administrator then press continue. Now were going to run a function here that will our program that will check the entire hard drive in our computer for problems and will fixed those problem as the encounter. The wider little fixed on this it will basically marked in a bad sectors and it comes across and it won’t use those bad sectors in the future.

So just type “CHKDSK” for check disk so short in there and then space, slash F for fixed any problems that you come across, press enter after type on that, I can say you can’t type right now because were basically using our hard drive, so what I want you to do is I want you to reboot your computer and then while your computer booting back up its going to run that troubleshooting test on it. So were going to say Y for yes which means we want it to run the next time the computer restart were going to say enter. So basically, we’ve just flag our hard drive to be check very next time this computer restart, so click on your start button and basically go to this little arrow and we’d like to chose restart to restart our computer.
