Today we're going to learn what the definition of the Disk Drive is. The Disk Drive is a device that reads data from and writes data on to disk. What it does is it rotates vary fast and it has one or several heads which reason writes the data from. There are several types of Disk Drives. So, first of all, we have Hard Disk Drives. This has one Disk Drives which can be read over and over again. Then we also have Floppy Disk drives which is the older kind of removable disk drives.

Here we can insert Floppy in and out and the disk will read and write data from the Floppy disk. Finally, we have Optical Disk Drives which is basically known as CD or DVD Players. The other thing is over computer you can use Internal or External Drives. For example here, we have an External hard drive which is plugged in the computer for USB cable. Now that we can see all this hardware looks like, let's see how they look in our computer screen. To do that, simply go to My Computer on your Desktop, double-click on it. And here we can see a lot of disk drives we have. First, we can see Hard Disk Drives, here there are free but that doesn't necessarily mean that we free physical hard drives because one can be split in to several partitions to make the computer believe that there are several. Next, we can see what the computer call Removable Devices or storage: this includes the Floppy Drive, or also our two optical Disk Drives, in other words, this are the CD and DVD players on your computer.
