Is DSL the Same as Broadband?
Today we're going to discuss the difference between the DSL and Broadband. Basically Broadband use to define connection that’s faster than Dial-Up for 56k. Both DSL and Cable Modem Connection will fall into this category. The difference between the two is that on the Cable Modem Connection, your modem will be plugged in into your Cable Socket in the wall like you TV cable socket and you'll be getting you access for your TV cable company. However, on the DSL Modem, your modem will be plugged into your phone line. So, basically they look exactly the same except one is for your TV cable and other is for your phone line. Now, the discussion is to which is better is quite a complicated one. Because they bother offer a better high speed. But for example DSL connections, as you move further way from the Provider Central Office the signal fades. So, if you live in a middle of nowhere DSL connection might not be the best solution for you. On the other hand, and with cable connections you use usually actually share the connection with your neighbor. So if a lot of people in the neighborhood are using Internet and using a lot of Panel at the same time it could slow you down a little. In any case, both connections will be an improvement over 56k or Dial-Up.
