Hi I’m Emilia and I’m here to answer the question who invented the first hair straightened. The first hair straightened actually invented in 1762 by CJ Walker. And then later in 1905 madam Walker used it as a heated woman too really straighten the hair and actually it was a hot comb so it looks like a comb and it was gold and you would put them in ovens.

Now the issue is the more you got the oven and you put your instruments in and so they still have them back in the day they would actually put this on the stove top just like the old irons would be. And then in the 70’s women started using their steam irons. Now probably around I would say maybe late 80’s when the crimping iron came out someone say “hey, let’s take out the plates on the crimping iron and create the flat iron”. So this has come a long way and over a couple hundred years so CJ Walker in 1762 and then in 1905 madam Walker and in the 70’s of iron and now, 2008, your good old flat iron.
