Sports Training & Fitness : Sports Training Push-Up Drills

Hello, my name is Carlos Davila; I’m a personal trainer in New York City. In this clip, we’re going to go over various push up drills for overall conditioning. One of the oldest and most useful exercises for building upper body strength is push up. If you’re thinking what the push up means, you’re using chest muscles, you’re using back muscles, and you’re using arm muscles. So your going from a simple push up where your hands are flat, chest are across your hands, and you’re up and down to something more creative way on your fingertips, increasing the strength in your hands.

If you want to get a little more creative you get knuckle push ups, want to get a little bit more creative you get plan push ups, if you want to get a little bit more explosive clap push ups. You want to add a little more intensive to your workout, you can take a band, wrap it around your hands, and you’re working on your shoulders a lot more with this push ups, bring it in, make it a little more than it. So again, taking something as simple as a push up, you can continually progress it and make it a little more difficult in order to increase the effectiveness of the workout.
