Small Dog Breed Care : How to Care for a Pomeranian

Hi I'm Nancy Frensly; I'm the training manager at the Berkley East Main Society in Berkley, California I'm going to talk a little bit about taking care of your Pomeranian. The little Pomeranians are a member of the spits family and they're characterized by having a really big, big coat they have lots, and lots, and lots of fur so they're also a very happy little dog and they're spits like in their appearance and their behavior, they behave a lot like a larger version called the key shut.

These dogs likes to spin, they like to bark, they like to do tricks, great little circus dogs and good family members. Again small dogs are not always going to be the best if you have a home with small children or a home that's really busy where people aren't watching where they're going because small dogs can get trip over and stepped on and injured in that, that way.

They are relatively free of genetic health problems however and that makes them pretty easy to care for, they love attention and they love doing things for you but you will need to comb out that coat and brush out the coat really often or it is going to be all over the place. Pomeranians can do a number of activities like obedience, agility, tracking; they all do just about anything you ask them to do. Your Pomeranian is going to make a great family pet, they are a hearty little dog and they live for a long time.
