Small Dog Breed Care : How to Care for a Miniature Dachshunds

Hi I'm Nancy, I'm the training manager at the Berkley East Baker Main Society and we're going to talk now about Miniature Dachshunds. Caring for your Miniature Dachshunds is a lot like caring for your regular Dachshund except the big difference is Miniature Dachshund is really, really much smaller than a regular size dachshund, they don't tempt to have the difficulty with their lower backs that the larger dachshund have but they will still have some of that problem.

You know with the dog that small one of the things that you have to be really careful about in your home is that they don't get stepped on, they like to be round you and they'll hang around your feet but it's really, really easy to step on them and they is an accident that happens to the quite a few of them.

So in terms of care you, your Miniature Dachshund needs food that has small bites and a lot of the pet food companies now make foods that have a small enough Keble for a miniature dog to eat, they don't need a lot of cope care but they do need care that they're not getting injured or drop, so they may not be the best, best dachshund to be in a home with small children perhaps your regular size ones would be a little better for that. Otherwise happy little pets, love to go with you, like to be carried around in little carriers and they certainly don't mind wearing stylish jackets.
